Militant Grammarians Strike the Grand Canyon
10 Sep 2008
Two self-proclaimed "grammar vigilantes" have been banned from all National Parks for a year, and will have to pay to fix a historic, though misspelled (and poorly-punctuated) sign they corrected.
The men hailed from the mysterious guerrilla group, TEAL, or the Typo Eradication Advancement League. The group has been described as an "angry linguistic mob with torches." According to the Internet posting, TEAL members agreed to "stamp out as many typos as we can find, in public signage and other venues where innocent eyes may be befouled by vile stains on the delicate fabric of our language."
Interpreters, your spell check IS NOT ENOUGH.
