A German
philosopher was in the bathtub meditating on morality. He
thought that morality should be something you could count
on, like you can count on a warm bath being comforting. So he
wrote a treatise that stretched into several long and
complicated books at the end of which he was forced to admit
that there is something about morality that is a totally
emotional response, like a kind of faith, and that in the
end the only thing you could know with certainty in life is
that there's nothing better than a wet Kant. |
